Aweksha, which is CARE in Sanskrit, is a newly founded Women’s Trust towards the end of 2021.
Although the name is new, we come with 42 years worth of grassroot level experience of working
against violence towards women. Aweksha is a breakaway from Vimochana. Moving forward we wish
to continue our fight to alleviate gender-based violence.
Our primary focus would be to create resilient feminist networks that will act as support systems to
survivors of any form of abuse. We hope that Aweksha can emerge as a safe space for women which
would promote healing and recovery. Aweksha is a passion project which we hope will touch the lives of
women across all identities. The interventions at Aweksha are based on 42 years of work experience
supporting survivors
