Aweksha Women’s Trustbrought together about a dozen survivors of burns who had endured horrific forms of domestic and intimate partner violence which eventually culminated with these women being severely burnt. The stories were testimonies to the silent suffering endured by them over a period of time.

As part of Aweksha’s campaign, Up In Flames, we organized 7 blood camps in collaboration with colleges in Bangalore and companies in both private and public sector. The blood collected will be used for the reconstructive surgeries of survivors of burns and acid attacks at Victoria Hospital at free of cost.

Aweksha organized a workshop on Basic Counseling skills for the nurses of Mahabodhi Burns Centre in Victoria Hospital. The workshop brought out the importance of listening to the survivors in the hospital.
