As part of the Up in Flames Campaign, Aweksha will have Street Plays in collaboration with students from Christ University across Bangalore to highlight the burning of women. Through this, we hope to change the dominant narrative of these deaths being “accidental” but are instead cases of outright murders and abetted suicides which is criminized

Aweksha organized a workshop on Basic Counseling skills for the nurses of Mahabodhi Burns Centre in Victoria Hospital. The workshop brought out the importance of listening to the survivors in the hospital. The session also highlighted the need for providing a safe space to the survivors by being more empathetic towards them and their needs....

As part of Aweksha’s campaign, Up In Flames, we organized 7 blood camps in collaboration with colleges in Bangalore and companies in both private and public sector. The blood collected will be used for the reconstructive surgeries of survivors of burns and acid attacks at Victoria Hospital at free of cost.
